"Just two years ago I was sleeping in a shop doorway laid on top of some cardboard wrapped in a urine-soaked blanket. Today I am blessed with being the mother of my ten month old daughter, and a council flat. This is because today I am clean, and I am reminded everyday how invaluable support, encouragement, warmth, shelter and food are. So many of us take these things for granted. Today I bought a copy of The Big Issue from somebody who I recognised from my time living on the streets, this just re-affirmed my faith in God and humankind. Without the services offered by The Big Issue, where would these vendors be?"
